Ethos, Values and Aims

When children and adults join Tatsfield Primary School, we want them to feel that our school is a happy, welcoming, and inclusive community where everyone has a genuine sense of belonging. Every individual is valued for who they are and for all that they bring to our school community.
We aim to create a supportive and nurturing environment in which all children thrive. We aim for all children to feel included, respected, and encouraged to achieve their full potential as we ‘Aim High to Achieve More’.
We value the strong parental partnership between school and home and know the impact this has on pupils’ academic and emotional progress. We hope that the experiences, opportunities, and encouragement we provide at Tatsfield will enable our pupils to move confidently and successfully to the next step in their lives.
We encourage children, staff, and parents to work actively in partnership to enable all children to realise their full potential:
We aim for our children to:
- develop into happy, kind, confident, and respectful individuals with a secure foundation in learning that will last throughout their lives
- appreciate and understand moral and religious beliefs and to have a respectful attitude about the views and experiences of others
- develop enquiring minds, be confident to ask questions, take risks, and have a desire to achieve
- be independent learners and thinkers who are able to seek solutions creatively and collaboratively
- be caring, resilient, and responsible individuals who value themselves and others
Aim High, Achieve More
We do this by:
- supporting pupils’ academic, social, emotional and wellbeing development
- providing a happy, safe, inclusive, and positive atmosphere within classrooms and across the school
- creating a sense of belonging, where every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to achieve their best
- delivering a broad, rich, and inspiring curriculum that celebrates diversity
- offering an attractive, safe, and stimulating physical environment for work and play that promotes understanding, respect, and care for our surroundings
- providing high-quality professional development for all staff to ensure the best possible teaching and learning
- fostering positive, inclusive relationships between children, staff, families, and wider communities
- working in partnership with parents to support every individual pupil and strengthen our school as a whole
We have wider aims to:
- play our part in raising national standards in education through sharing good practice with other schools and teachers across the Multi Academy Trust.
Our school rules support our values:
I am safe
I use kind words and actions
I try my best
I look after my school and environment
