Lunchtime is in safe hands with Twelve15

Twelve15 is part of Surrey County Council and it has been providing school meals for over 70 years, it feeds thousands of school children daily and is Tatsfield Primary School's  caterer.

About School Meals

Pupils’ wellbeing is at the heart of Twelve15’s recipes.  Every weekday it focuses on providing fresh, healthy, and nutritionally balanced lunches that adhere to Government Food Standards.

80% of meals are cooked from scratch, using locally sourced produce whenever possible.

There is a three-week menu cycle, offering three daily hot meal options including a vegetarian choice.

Special diets and allergies

Twelve15 caters for the 14 key allergens identified by the Food Standards Agency.  It also has a range of Special Diet menus including ‘Dairy Free’ and ‘Free from Gluten’.  Our Primary school kitchens are nut free.

How much does a school meal cost and what’s included?

There has long been a positive association between learning outcomes and nutrition.

School meals are FREE for all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, regardless of household income (a saving of over £480).  This entitles your child to a balanced main course, dessert, fresh bread daily and access to a salad bar (remove if not applicable).

If your child is in Year 3 or above, the cost per meal is £2.80 from September 2024. 

Your child may be entitled to a Free School Meal, please speak in confidence to a member of the School Office. 

Menu Choices

You are able to opt in and out of 'Meals' for your child on a daily basis by selecting a menu choice via the Arbor Parent Portal / App at least one week in advance. We have included a link to help you make the most of this feature for your child here on the Arbor Parent Portal/app.

Our catering team (Twelve15), place an order for food each Thursday for the following week. We therefore require one week's advance booking to help ensure there is as little wastage as possible. Simply visit your portal / app each week before Thursday to select your child's menu choices for the following week(s) and leave the rest to us.

Please note that all parents (including FSM and UFSM families) need to select their child's meal choices if they wish to enjoy a hot meal in school. From September 2024 a school meal will be £2.80 per meal and must be paid for in advance. Please 'Top Up' your child's meals account online via the Parent Portal / App in the usual way. Children in Key Stage 1 will continue to receive 'Universal Free School Meals' (UFSM) and therefore do not have to pay.

Please also note that if you have already informed us of your child's specific dietary requirements, please simply select your child's favoured meal choice and our catering team will make the necessary adjustments each day.

Please note that if you miss the deadline to order a hot lunch, you will need to send your child to school with a packed lunch for that week.
